Nah. The locals speak English and are very friendly so you always have someone to talk to. We stayed at bed and breakfasts, not hotels, so the keepers were helpful in suggesting local things to do.
I got that, just meant with the signs, and neverending 2km to blah, blah, blah...
Still sounds like a cool trip.

Really good pix Danny. Thanks for posting them. I was hoping you'd get some up here.
How were the people - in general - toward Yanks? Traditionally they are very reponsive to us and appreciate the tourist dollars, but you never know anymore. I'd just love to do that exact same trip. My family comes from South Dublin and would love to see if I could get some "tree" info there (already have a good start).
Pops looks very familiar too, but can't place if/where I would know him from.
You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.
We drove the Ring of Beara in lieu of the Ring of Kerry. We were staying in Kenmare, so the Beara drive was significantly shorter; the Kerry drive would have taken at least 8 hours.
We could have driven north to do the Ring of Dingle, but I refused on the grounds that I wouldn't be able to tell anyone about it. How can you say you drove the Cockring with a straight face?

The folks were great. They weren't quite as warm as the Cead Mile Failte slogan would suggest (a hundred thousand welcomes) but after a few beers everyone's a friend.
thats more like it . i've been trying to figure out what the hell was going on . hell he didn't have much hair when you was a baby. but i had enough for both of us. tell'em he's still ugly..... jmho
It all looks so romantic and it's on my bucket list to go. I think it is really cool you took a trip with your Mom because you are right, it goes fast.
I’m too slow for the fast cars and too fast for the slow cars.
