  • Some pics of my new ride.

Well, I am done with my Thunderbird and I sold my RX8, so I needed a replacement car. Picked up a 93 Firebird Formula M6. It's in decent shape, with the biggest issues being the clear coat, the drivers seat, and the dash. All pretty common Fbody crap. Has a couple of minor mods, short throw shifter, strut tower brace, mufflers, and aluminum intake elbow. It looks slow because it is slow.

I got it pretty cheap because it was losing coolant and needed a master/slave cylinder for the clutch. Had a few problems caused by the previous "mechanic", but I got those fixed pretty easily.

Cool. I like how the formulas look like v6 cars. I've wanted this Gen f-body for a while. Just never pulled the trigger.

I like the Formula in the LT1 body, but the Trans Am in the LS1 body. I only gave $1700 for it, so it's hard to not pull the trigger. The coolant loss was just piss poor decisions by the previous owner. Stop leak, bad radiator cap, not fixing the cooling fans.

That's cheap for a fun beater car. I sold my lightning recently. Was costing $500 a month in gas yikes. So I'm in the market for a toy here soon.

I don't know anything about eminem, but I am merely stating a fact before anyone else has a chance to. It's a stock LT1 Fbody, it's slow.

Did it come with the optional house hitch? Maybe find some stone washed shorts in the trunk next to a Waffle House cook's hat?

Definitely. Also had a sixer of keystone light in the hatch. Plus I am growing the mullet to boot.

                    Why'd you sell the RX8?

Not a bad ride. You should expect mid to high 20's on gas mileage. My dad's old 96 Z got low 30's on trips and it was supercharged with ZR1's. I always had a soft spot for the Formulas. For that price you made a killing. Now for one of those belt driven Vortech ram air intakes. You'd be surprised at the torque that thing will have.

It is only worth $1700 if it came with that tape.

Seriously though, formulas have always been my favorite Fbody, I would love to have a formula firehawk someday.

That is a really good deal. All of the 93-97 Fbodies had paint issues like that. An old buddy of mine, had a red 95 formula. It was a quick car. Congrats.

18MPG with premium fuel. It was cheap inside, and I got scared of the miles on it.

Lol, it had no radio, I had that tape deck left over in my garage from something else. I just wanted to test the stock sound system.
