You never run with this kind of desk. In fact, that treadmill has a top speed of about 3mph. I usually walk at 1.5mph which is enough to burn 100 calories an hour. I can type just fine at that speed. However, when I get on a conference call, I speed it up to 2.5mph.

Ceyko is pretty much correct. I've never been able to get myself into the gym habit but I needed to do something. Just having a stand up desk alone is good improvement to your health. There are several studies that show that sitting all day is slowly killing you. Just getting off your ass reverses a lot of issues. My last physical had my cholesterol level below 200 for the first time in 5 or 6 years. My heart's condition has gotten a lot better as well. Ultimately I'm aiming for 175-180lbs..
I love standing up while working. Makes you work alot faster and more efficiently for some reason.

Yea, that's why I reused this IKEA Galant desktop I already had.

Standing up keeps the blood circulating, that's why you work better. The killer is getting used to standing for so long. It took me three weeks before my calves stopped aching.. but now I can stand all day long and not care one bit..

Meh, I worked retail and hospitality for a combined 8 years. I've still got it.

Yeah, i found them several places, even used they were in the 1200-1500 range

and that was just for the small corner piece

I just bought a new sit down desk for the house, but I plan to eventually take the time to build a treadmill laptop station with my extra docking station.

I have an old HON desk right now - it's great, the surface is super smooth, but it's a behemoth and I wish I could do something different.

I can't walk and talk at the same time so as soon as I tried to do any work I'm sure i'd faceplant if I had a treadmill desk.
