I called Randall Scott's office last week and the case is still pending. Man, when you get an attorney on it, they must have some magic way of delaying it forever?
I triple emphasized that I would not plea out the passing emergency vehicle citation. I wanted to fight it all the way to the judge/jury if he can't get it dismissed with the prosecutor. Not sure what will happen on the front plate one with the current law messup.
Will update when I have more info.Ford

United States of gay law enforcement, I can't stand how big of a pussy the US has become. Can't believe there is a thread about fighting a ticket for passing a cop while he is fucking over another person. Next year we'll be seeing threads about getting a ticket while walking and texting.

Apparently this particular JP court moved buildings or something, so their court got MAJORLY backed up. My trial hasn't even been scheduled yet. I was so concerned about the delays, I called and confirmed with the court directly versus just taking Randall Scott's word for it. Of course, Mr. Scott was correct and the court confirmed everything his office said as accurate.
So, still waiting.Ford

I've fought one in Dallas once. On my bike, 80 in a 40, total bs cops on a powertrip and didn't like anyone on a crotch rocket.
Hired Everett Newton, delayed and delayed until finally called me and told me to take off a full day from work, we were going to be in court.
Showed up, cop showed up, Newton told me to sit tight until the docket emptied (all other cases that day). So I sat patiently and eventually ended up in an empty court room with the prosecutor, judge and bailiff. They carried on like I wasn't even there, discussing and laughing about the days' judgements.
Newton showed back up, greased the palms of the crooked judiciaries, and I was sent on my way, case dismissed.
An enlightening experience to say the least.

My case was more than 7 years ago, btw. They look to be still in business though.
