As we approach the one year anniversary (tomorrow) of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, please take a few minutes to watch this video. The Japanese are such a wonderful people and have an amazing (and yes, sometimes very strange, to us) culture. I feel so fortunate to have lived among them for over 3 years and to have gotten to experience them and their culture. They are a proud and honorable people, and the whole world could certainly learn something from them in how they responded to this tragedy. They heartfelt thanks expressed in this video should not be underestimated, because it is completely sincere. I for one am so very proud with how we, as Americans, rushed to the aid of some of our closest friends in the world. And a special kudos to our (my) Navy for the phenomenal speed and effectiveness with which aid was rendered.
