What do yall think about the wheels? Iv got the same ones on my truck and Im contemplating painting them like that. My only reservations is that most of the painted wheels Iv seen look bad. Although I really like they way those look for some reason but it migh just be a good angle.

This is what the guy that painted that truck said about the paint
It is Valspar Low Gloss Black...You can buy it at various tractor supply stores, about $30 ~ 40 a gallon then about another $40 for hardner and reducer. Make sure to get the restorer series not the oil base industrial type. The low gloss black is the same as John Deere Blitz Black. The John Deere paint is even made by Valspar, just under the JD name for about $70 a gallon. I saw alot of the Rat Rod guys running this so I thought I'd give it a try due to the many dents his truck had. Well see how it holds up to mud and trail rides. Hopefully it wont scratch up to bad.

I plan on it eventually but at this point I want to take a cheaper route that I can do myself so it'll look good until I get the line-x done. Right now it's got a bunch of small dents and scratches all over it and it looks like someone has just neglected the truck it's whole life(I bought it like this). Im going to pop some dents out and do some bondo work and I dont want to drive around with bondo splotches all over the truck so I figured I would just paint it that flat black color so it would look good until the line-x.
Line X will end up fading and it can also get scratched/gouged off. Make SURE they give you a good warranty and only use Line-X sprayer who has been around a while and has a good reputation

Iv been reading a bunch of stuff on speedliner. You can buy a hopper from them and do it yourself but it's still $1300-1500.

Yep same thing I suggested. Go to tractor supply and get the stuff! My buddy did a '70 chevy like that and it came out awsome looking. I think he even got the spray gun and all the supplies he needed at tractor supply.

He said its tough as nails too, its meant for industrial applications so that is probably true!

Rustoleum satin black. $10 a quart...reduce it with mineral spirits up to 20% and spray it.

all of those suggestions will still fade/chalk. You can't really buff it out either, because then it will shine.

Why not buy 3 or so Raptor kits. Spray it a little thin and you will have enough and it will still be really tough. The roof and hood don't need much.

IMO i'd be careful painting any of that industrial b.s. or rustoleum etc on it and then expect something like lineX to hold up, a paint job is only as good as the weakest link, and that would be it.

I herculined most of my Jeep Cherokee for 60.00 and had half a gallon left. I bet two gallons would cover no problem.

I looked them up and their kits look pretty good. Im wondering what kind of UV protection they have though?
