Cliff notes - my uncle passed away ~25 years ago and he had a 66 Chevy when he passed. My dad got it and kept for 5 more years until he had to get a bigger vehicle when my sister was born. I rebuilt a model truck to replicate the one my uncle had.
The first 2 pictures are as I bought it. I had been searching for a 66 SWB model for the last 5 years and this is the first/only one I found, and the green & gold scheme had to go. I ended buying 3 more model kits for various parts I needed.
The last 2 pictures are as it sits now in the shadow box. It is very close to exactly what my dad inherited when my uncle passed. It is in a shadow box with the base/back a tin Chevy sign. I know the Chevrolet sign across the front is the wrong decade, but it fit the size I needed. It's not easy finding small signs. The only thing left to add is the picture my granny is finding of my dad and my uncle together at the park with the truck. I will put that standing up in the bed when I get it.
