I recently bought a little $100 park flyer from Hobby Town in Arlington. It's a HobbyZone mini Piper Cub. Broke the tail off the first day flying it in 25mph winds. fixed it and waited for the winds to die down. Much more successful but had some flight control issues due to my crappy repairs. I took a little more time and fixed stuff more solidly and had a great experience yesterday...until the battery died and it crashed and broke the tail again. I'm going to buy a new fuselage today and fix her up right and go have some more fun. I've always wanted an rc plane and for a the price it's a blast!!!!

I picked this one up Saturday. Went to fly it Sunday but the battery is bad.
did take the cub up with the camera in a different spot. Still not happy with it's location. I'll keep messing with it until I find a good position.
anyway here's the video. Crash is at the end.

Went to the flying field on Sunday with my son, perfect flying day!
Here are the airplanes I brought. (and one of the helicopters)
A good turn out at the field. I went with a few of my flying friends, they have the big airplanes.
These belong to one of my flying buds. He's single, so he can afford bigger airplanes than I can.

I've got an Exceed RC Raptor G2 3D I'd like to get rid of. It needs the rotor blades replaced (I have 1 new one old blades have been clipped and inch to 1.5 inch for some reason), and will need a battery. I have an e-flite 2-3 cell Lipo charger to go with it, 6 channel remote, instruction manual. I got it to mess with and never got around to it. Pm for my info.Last edited by shumpertdavid; 09-26-2012, 12:39 PM.

Today I was flying and mistakenly flew out of my transmitter's range and lost control. right before I know I'd lost it, I killed the throttle. I jumped in my truck and went on the hunt. I found it 3 blocks over, it had bounced off a roof and landed in a front yard. It was suprizingly undamaged. A chipped wing, and scratches on the nose

Also just a better 25-30c battery will really wake that thing up and let you push it to about 75mph.Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Here is a true 200+mph plane. All the claims of speed are greatly exaggerated. All the "foam" planes posted here will never reach 100mph let alone 150 as claimed. It takes hollow molded with "0" slop in every control surface to reach 100, let alone 200+.
These air-frames are carbon fiber-hollow molded, with carbon fiber "D" boxed wings! F-5D is the bad boys on the block! F-3B are the pylon electrics and for 28" wing spans they are insanely fast!
Paul flying his Composite-Models Demon. It's not very easy to film, it's crazy fast! (300 km/h)SETUP:Motor: Hacker 15 turnLipo: 6S Flightpower 2170 APC 4,75x...
To go 200+ it takes roughly 2 to 3k in plane, motor, battery and electronics.

Mine was radared at 117 with a 35-36c motor, 100 plush ESC, 8x8 speed prop and a 4s 40c Lipo. They can and do break 100 with easeGood judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Well heck! That is very fast for a parkzone! I guess I will pull my foot from mouth! Very nicely done.
I have a Sokol that I run on a 2cell Y wind Outrunner 4.1x4.1 prop, that I would love to have clocked!
I am sooo addicted to speed, I am done with the 3-d stuff. I have given 3-D hobby shop enough money! LOL
Don't get me wrong it is fun, but ----- once you have experienced the 200mph whistle, there is no going back!
