I was looking at one of these. They look easy/cheap enough to build/rebuild before I dive off into a "model" plane.

I have an addiction.
This is my mSR. Excellent learner heli and very fun indoors.
mSR with Airwolf body and my 3D larger Blade heli
Part of my fleet. J3 cub, F4 Corsair and the Blade helis:
PZ F4 Corsair wth power mods:
And what it looked like after the wings folded doing a loop at 100+ MPH:
And my favorite. My P-51. I did some serious upgrades to it and it was making just over 1000 watts of power. Same plane with same power mods has been clocked at 138mph. Mine was at near that speed when it flew out of its tail feathers and nose dived at well over 100mph. Its nose stuck 6" deep into hard dirt when it crashed.
Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

They are from ParkZone and very inexpensive. Several crashes with no dammage and they are easy to setup. Out of the box they will do just over 50mph and its easy to slap larger motors and speed controllers in them. Excellent design thats very stable..... untill your quadruple its power output and neglect to reinforce the tail. LOL
As for helis, I bought the big fancy 450 size 3D heli and crashed it every time. $40-$100 in new parts every time was nuts so I sold it and got the little mSR. You can bounce it off walls like crazy and nothing ever breaks. Then I stepped up to the 350 size 3D heli and was so very nice to fly after learning the basics with the little heli.
Blade SR is a superior heli for a beginner that wants a heli that can grow with them and is very durable and stable. Can almost hover hands free out of the box.Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

i cant keep my r/c cars and trucks running. i cant imagine the damage i could do with something falling from the sky.
edit: what would be a cheap, durable plane to learn with?
