It's good to hear you've back on your feet.
If you need a hand at this new shop, let me know. I have an abundance of free time, my own tools, and I've turned a wrench of two, and could use a little extra cash.

I can't find any good links for the info on it right now. It was a few years ago and my boss was trying to find a way to mod their instructions to work in his E31s.

Anyway I am heading out the door to go check out how this town is on Sat night. Gonna prolly be cruising Valley Mills in the Bimmer so if out and about, beep.

The 'spirited driving posts' got to me. Whatever.
Also, I'm about 150 lbs. I'm not kicking anyone's ass.

It's too cold for Valley Mills to have any action. It's mostly 17 year olds anyways. The malibu has no heater, and no choke, so it only runs when it's 65* and warmer. Wait a month or two, and youll have some fun out there.

There is a white fox body with a 'trick flow top end kit' that cruises around. Sounds real nasty but isnt too quick . He dosn't believe me the 'bu is N/A.

The best thing to do in this town on a Saturday night is leave it. Both Austin and DFW are practically a stones throw away and offer a MUCH wider variety of things to do.

So..... then...... you dont question them? Seems less than questionable would indicate to be without question.

BTW, for chits and giggles I had my BMW buddy at Trinity take a look at it. Hes very critical of anything and he came back out of the bay shaking his head and said "Thats the best condition E38 I have ever seen. Its like brand new everywhere!
I do research on cars cause I am a car guy. When I thought I would like an E38 I scoured the internet finding out their common issues and what to look for. I went over every inch of this car under and over and saw it was in fact perfect...... well close. Reciepts for everything since new, over $30,000 worth. Owner that loved it and was upset to see it go and also happened to be an import mechanic with a very nice shop in Fort Worth.
Every single issue these cars are known for has been replaced with OEM or better (like the complete Dinan suspension).
Only issue the car had was cupping on the edge of the front tires. Toe was slightly off so I had that corrected and have a pair of tires on the way. I have no fears of this car having a failure because they are built excellent and are built to last. I could have bought a 4 year old Malibu for $8000 with the same miles and no service history. Was a sound decision IMHO.

Anyway, on to the silly stuff. Since the front tires were cupped I decided to take the rear 255/45s and put them on the front (stock was 235/50) and ordered new 285/40/18s for the rear. I am assured they will fit with no rubbing and seen many E38s running the same setup online so know it works on these wheels. 18x8 front and 18x9.5 rear.

Also wanted to dress it up a little and these showed today:

Damn it, I had a long response typed up on my phone just now and fucking hit the wrong button so it deleted it. I'll make a quick summary.

I was drunk when I made that post, lol at my dumbass with the incorrect word usage.

I know you are just coming out of the woods and getting back on your feet. I remember when you were posting about going through hard times. I've read your recent posts about opening a business and that is fucking awesome. I'm just saying it seems like you might not look before you leap if you are coming out of hard times and dropping coin on an old BMW.

I know the car looks awesome and is probably a good deal for what it is. It's just not the kind of thing that I would find reasonable if I were in the situation that I imagine you are in. Of which I'm sure I have no clue and need to mind my own God damn business. lol

                        Good luck with it man.

That is the plan man. LOL

I have a terrible habit of modding cars. No matter what I get I always mod the crap out of it. That was a HUGE reason for getting the BMW. It has everything and does everything well. I wouldn't have to install a system, wouldn't pine for a nav deck, wouldn't try to supercharge it (cause the kits are more then the car and don't add much hp), knew I wouldn't mod the exhaust cause all the aftermarket ones are expensive and sound like ass. I may cut the mufflers off cause its free and sounds killer. I wouldn't change the wheels or suspension cause I love what it has.
So that way it stays close to how it was designed and I don't tinker with it and waste stupid money on mods and just enjoy it as a solid DD.
I wanted the rings cause they look cool and are cheap. Ordered the M series wing cause I like the looks and its under $70 painted and shipped. Then thats it, shes done and I am just gonna drive her and do maintenance.

So I took it for some nice pics to show the wide tires and new clear corners and when I got home the wing was there. LOL So a couple shots in front of the house to show how the wing turned out.
