They've done it before on the super stallion. they also had a whicked rear suspension set up they should bring into consideration for the IRS models. That would facepalm zr1 owners. But it's still just a mustang, right?

What about when GM challenged ford to a drag race back in the mid-late 90s? GM brought an f body with a 572 and ford brought a 94 cobra with 600ci bbf? GM lost the drag race by about a full second and the mustang still never had traction. LoL 855hp n/a. 10.3 at 135 on some drag radials from the 90s. Lol! 0-60 in 1.9 seconds. SVE was badass. This shows that GM has never had a leading edge in performance, ford just didn't produce them because there wasn't money in it, they also didn't file for bankruptcy.

Sure, GM is in the business of keeping the Bowling Green plant going cranking out Corvettes because it's a big money loser and they are spending hundreds of millions developing the C7 because it'll be a money loser too.

GM has the corner of the market dominated for quite some time now. It would be foolish to develop a whole new car to try and compete for such a small market. Why would they throw away all that money when they are completely dominating in the truck and Mustang markets? They sell 5 Mustangs to every one Camaro. Seems pretty smart to me.

Are you serious? Do you know the sales figures on Mustang/Camaro? Clearly you don't. Camaro has been outselling Mustang since the new Camaro came out. I read a stat on a Chevrolet ad recently that one out of every 3 sporty/sports cars sold is a Camaro or Corvette.

Your logic (or lack thereof) seems to imply since the Corvette outsells pretty much every sports car except the 350/370Z (Mustang/Camaro are muscle/sporty cars) then Porsche should stop producing the 911, BMW should stop making the M3, Audi shouldn't make the R8, Ferrari shouldn't make anything, etc.
