Street wheels for my coupe (need to run 28's on the back)

Trying to decide on a wheel choice for my coupe has been a chore. On one hand I haven't really had any trouble rolling around on big/littles and I don't really drive the car that much any way (~2k a year). On the other hand I am thinking about swapping the gears out to something a little more street friendly w/the 3spd auto since the turbo would probably like it. I like a lot of the OEM mustang wheels out there but whatever I run I need to be able to run a 28in tire on it. I like the FR500's and the 99 Cobra wheels on fox bodies, but was wondering if anyone has any pictures of a fox on 17's or 18's w/28in tires?

I need a 28 in over all tire height, not 25.79! Dan, what size 17" tires are 28 overall?

275 is the widest tire you can fit under a fox without modifications.

Are you sure about that? I had 295's out back on mine with only a rolled lip.

i had 315's under my old fox. these 28x11.50x15's that are on there are way wider then a normal 275.

Yes. A rolled lip is a modification.

I've got a 305/45/18 Nitto drag radial under the back of one of my coupes on a 10.5" wheel. It took a good bit of time with a hammer to get them to fit. Its a little over 28" tall.

I have a friend running a 17" drag radial that is a little over 27" tall. I don't have a pic at the moment, but the big wheels with big tires do look a little different. Check out a pic of Novi's car on corral. He was running a 17" wheel and 28" drag radial. I think he made it into the high 8's with that set up.

315s only measure 25.5 in the 18. I hope eveything works out man. I am sure you will find the right tire.
