I'm a Ford guy, but I drive a '11 Silverado 1/2 ton for work and I beat the everloving fuck out of it and it keeps on going strong. I am impressed with GM's quality from that standpoint. Suspension wise, I drive it on rough oilfield lease roads, I've loaded it til the bumper is about a foot from the ground. put about 5k miles a month on it. I didn't like Chevy trucks at first, but I'm convinced they are good trucks now. I've tested mine pretty much to the max of any test.
Our safety director at work put 210k miles on an '08 5.3 Silverado crew 4x4 in less than 3 years. Only issue was a crank position sensor and the front wheel bearings. He even had bags put-on the truck to keep it level when it was new because he hauled and towed quite a bit with it. Truck is now a 'shop' truck for our mechanics and parts runner to use and it has 230k miles on and it's still plugging away. 4x4 isn't working for some reason but that's the only issue with it. It's a beast.
I bought the safety director an ecoboost F-150 less than a year ago. It already has over 50k miles on it without a hiccup. Hope it's as good as the Silverado.
