The Mustang will be a different platform for 2015. The 5.0 was engineered with Direct Injection in mind, so that seems like a logical time to implement it.

I keep hearing "it won't be retro" but I haven't seen a single concept from Ford about the styling yet. I figure it will either be really good or really piss a lot of people off.

I bet you anything with the new design comes an extra 200-300 lbs and 50 more hp.

That's always possible but it doesn't follow the current trend in the auto industry and Ford in general. Everyone is now pushing for lighter cars for better economy.

I'm betting the new Stang will be smaller in most dimensions too.

I would also point out that the Cadillac ATS is less than 3400lbs. The platform for that sedan will be used for the next gen Camaro. So there is a good chance the Chevy will weigh less than that. Ford will have to target that weight for the next Mustang.

2015 mustang will probably be simular to this

485HP and IRS sounds about right to compete with markets then.
Maybe even paddle shifters for those looking in the automatic.

Put the DOHC 5.0 motor inside of a fox body and I will buy another mustang. Until then I'm out.
