I would LOVE to see any video or official data from Ford that the '13 GT500 can run anywhere close to 7:30 on the Ring. I just don't think there is any way in hell a stock '13 GT500 can run 10 seconds faster than the ZL1 around the ring.

Reports are in the "30's" meaning anything from 7:30 to 7:39. Silly ZR1 owners are sure paranoid about this car. A Mustang competing with a Vette?! Oh noes! LOL.

Don't get your hopes up, there's no damn way.

Doesn't matter to me either way. Even if it gets in the low 40's, that is pretty damn impressive to me considering it's a heavy 3800lb four seater coupe that's threatening one of the best sports cars of our generation.

I agree. I'd say the ZR1 is quite possibly the best performing sports car the US has ever made, and probably the best bang for the buck car ever made. The Shebly is 10x the car I ever imagined it would be, or people would be willing to pay for.

Put the GT500 on the right rubber, and it could, but that wouldn't be fair.

I would like substantiated reports. Ford has put NOTHING out officially or any video. GM did on the ZL1, so it is pretty telling that Ford hasn't put anything out.

Only mentally retarded ZR1 owners would be worried about the '13 GT500.

The 2012 ZR1 on sport cups ran a 7:19. I never perceived the '13 GT500 as a 'threat.' I just think it's a sweet ass car and I love the GM/Ford/Mopar horsepower war. I hope Ford comes out with a Ford GT successor to compete with the upcoming Viper and higher versions of the upcoming C7. That will push Mopar/Fiat and GM to go even further with their vehicles.
