^ exactly. Most owners are rich bastards who don't do any maintenance on them. The older Rovers had pretty much a tweaked Buick pushrod motor. I've had mine for a year and I've loved every minute of it. Yes it requires more wrench time but I didn't mind at all. Pre '03 they are pretty much fancy Jeeps. Once the air suspension and T/C took over it was a mess for a bit.

See, this is what I'm talking about.

Dude it just started doing that last week and I have an ultragauge. It happened twice when I was sitting in traffic on 35 when it was 95+ for no more than 5 minutes. When I started driving it cooled off again. Bought a new car and I haven't driven it since. I probably just need to burp it or I put it in backwards which I'm VERY sure you're aware of is an easy fix. No it does not use oil or coolant. You really got to be like that to a fellow Rover owner?

mine is doing just fine. had a leak when i purchased it and it was fixed as part of the purchase and nothing is leaking as of right now. wife drives it everyday and i drive it a lot on the weekends. gets 15-16 out on the highway. has not left us stranded anywhere. a/c blows cold. great buy at $2000. i also know the previous 4 years it was owned by a land rover service writer (step father) and before that owned by the general managers family so it has been taken care of.
also has 123k on it
