"You know... this is a slow news week." LMAO. And his "[over]dramatization" is pretty great.

I grew up in Detroit and go back twice a year. Once a year is for Woodward (the largest car show in the world). Just like any major city there are places that are not safe. I always say it is a good place to be from.
My brother and I were riding through a bad part of town to chack out a body shop I used to work at. We pass a few miles of mostly burned out buildings. He asked, "Is this what a war zone looks like?" My reply was, "yes with out the bomb blast damage."
It is sad, when I left at the age of 17 in 1987 I told my remaining family that there would be no cars built in Detroit by the time I die or sooner. They are well on the way to proving me right.
Do not get me started on the unions. If you are pro union think about this. Detroit and MI in general has thousands of trained auto workers that need jobs. There are auto plants that have moved to the US over the last 20 years and none of them have located in MI.
Could be the weather or the unfriendly business climate.
Sad to se so many great buildings bombed out and people with little hope.

It is convenient for criminals to have an accessable victim base.
