Oh and 5.3's are aluminum. 6.0's truck motors are iron. Of course there are so many variations of the LS motors Im not even sure what all you can get in aluminum and iron now days.
Lason, you know better...lm7 and other 5.3 are iron, the l33 is alum block

On another note, I was just checking out the 5.0 crate motors and you can get them straight from Ford with performance rods/pistons, etc. Not bad at all for $7300 with manly rods and Mahle low compression pistons. They also offer another "aluminator" version for N/A with higher compression pistons.

Honestly I always thought they were aluminum. Only one I ever had was the piston slappin 5.3 in my suburban. Now that you say that though I remember people asking about boring 5.3's out to 5.7 since they are iron. My bad

Like I said though, these days there are so many variations it makes my head spin.

So which is better a crate 5.0 or a stroked 4.6 turned 5.0.

The 5.0 they really can't be compared one is a SOHC 3 valve motor the other is a DOHC running variable timing between the intake and exhaust camshafts (4 valve heads) for ultimate power and economy under different scenarios. I believe the only similarity between the 5.0 and 4.6 is the same stroke.

                          So you can't stroke a 4v 4.6 into a 5.0. You can only stroke a 3v 4.6 to a 5.0 is that what you imply.

Rather drive a 2012 Hyundai with the 5.0 in it. Its a 4 door.
