    False, obviously.

There's no pissing match here. You simply don't like Ford, so you would never give them credit for the great job they did on the 5.0. I always hated the 4.6s and the new engine is a whole other ball game.

LSJuans are great too and their sticks-and-stones simplicity makes them great for swaps. I'd never swap a 5.0 into anything either, but c'mon man, it's still pretty cool.

ls1 or aluminum 5.3 weighs right at 400lbs, 5.0 weighs right at 445lbs.

          From my quick googling....

          LS1 crate engine - 409 http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...art-W74C2.aspx

          5.0 crate engine - 444 http://www.fordracingpartsdirect.com...-6007-m50b.htm

So Ill just say they are about even although technically Im still right

Did you miss the part where I said I actually looked into this swap when Ford released the 5.0 crate motors? Im all for using whatever motor makes the most sense. I would even love to do a Nissan RB motor swap as well. I can honestly say Im not blinded by an allegiance to any brand.

You said 5.3, which I thought were all iron block truck engines. Never heard of an aluminum 5.3.

I also have no brand allegiance. My Plymouth has a sbf in it. And we haven't even started talking about the mopar 6.4 or new Hyundai v8 lol.

Per that crate motor link I posted, 5.3's are still only 433lbs

Oh and 5.3's are aluminum. 6.0's truck motors are iron. Of course there are so many variations of the LS motors Im not even sure what all you can get in aluminum and iron now days.

                  3. The car at the track isn't the same car, unless they turned it into a hatchback for better mph.
Its not the same car, just a video I found.

yeah, I read a hot rod article a while back, they pushed the limit of a stock 5.3 motor, i think it made 1200hp and they never blew it up, then at the end they realized it was only a 4.8, pretty impressive!
