Now I will say this motor would look cool as faux old school hemi in an old open front end hotrod. Put a EFI stack setup on it and it would look great. LS motors look like crap in old cars like that. As much as I love them, Im tired of seeing LSJuans in every car at car shows.

I dont know squat about emmisions but what is the real world MPG of a coyote 5.0 stang? Unless they are getting 25-30mpg then that point is moot.
I have 3.73s and drive like an idiot. I'm getting 19 pretty consistently. I got 25.6 on my trip to Austin. And I believe Henry is getting 30+ with his auto on the highway. I didn't buy it for mileage, but the OEMs have to worry about that to appease the feds.

As for making it look "old", it's been done. I'd really like a set of those cast valve covers.

why do LSx guys always fail to see what ford has done w/ far less cubic inches...with equal CI motors, ford would only continue to slay chevy. Of course I'm talking about right now, but even when chevy was on top w/ the LS1, Ford was still trying to do it w/ only 281cubes, and they still put the comaro and trans-am outta business. However I like to see the LS motors in other cars, as the camaros have looked like shit for awhile now.

If I actually cared I would bloody my forehead using the nearest wall.

**EDIT** Oh and damn you for baiting me into another one of these pointless pissing matches!

If that is/was the case then why doesnt Ford do it? The whole "waaaa waaaa my motor has less cubic inches" argument has gotten old and stale. You sound like a ricer bitching about "If Honda built a vtec motor with 5.7 liters then we would so beat you".

The camaro/trans am disappeared because GM hired idiots to design the cars and 16 year old girls preffered the V6 Mustangs to the V6 Camaros and firebirds.

5.3 LS swap would be cheaper, lighter, quicker.

I'm not one to put a gm motor in a Ford cause I know that when I open the hood, people would rather see a new 5.0C in it than another ls swapped fox.... Just my 2 cents

Plus I'm not doing it for power at the moment, just a nice cruiser. Don't get me wrong, I may send it to Mqnny or someone and get the same setup he has lol

I pasted the quote from the thread right under the link. It says LS1, that was after only a 2 minute google search. There are many LS guys making 1000+hp on stock parts (block, crank, heads, intakes, etc). The biggest issue LS motors have is their oiling setups but the stock parts are stout.

Like Lason said, the we do it with less cubes is retarded, the S2000 making 240hp with 2.0L "slays" fords 5.0 making 420....

The 505HP LS7 vettes are pulling 28+mpg hwy, and meeting emission requirements to boot, whats wrong with the pushrod engines again????
