i for the most part just free hand it. I did come across one car in a junkyard I want to recreate, but thats not coman. after Christmas I'm going to start making cars I intend to sell. The input I keep getting places the price in the $220 to $240 range. I'm not sure on this and it's still up in the air. Thats where we are right now. Custom orders will depend on how much extra work needs to be done. Once again, thanks for all the kind words. And feel free to give feedback on the proposed pricing scale.

Ill dig back through the pm's tonight, it takes around 5 to 8 days start to finish. That's working on it atleast a litle every day. Think. Of it this way, I had just started on the camaro an stang the day I started this thread, and should be all the way done tonight.

I decided to bite the bullet and purchased an air brush and compressor. So I needed something to practice on. but didn't want to mess up a good kit. So out came the 57 chevy snap kit. I never build snap together kits so I wouldn't be upset it I messed it up. well after painting the body, I fell in love with it and decided to finish it. I think its pretty good for literally the first time I've ever air brushed. and as far as a snap kit goes its real nice too.
so tell me what you think.

What kind of brush/compressor did you get? If you have any trouble or questions feel free to pm me. I shoot with an iwata gun and compressor and have been through a lot of the growing pains with model and auto paints in smaller quantities. I ordered the 1:12 gt500 kit today to hopefully jump start my 1:12 65 mustang build

I wish I'd known you were in the market for a compressor. I've got a tankless compressor that I would have given you. I would stay away from the testors enamels. Go with the model master stuff at the very least, I know its still a testors product, but it is better quality. Try a lacquer thinner, or maybe some high % rubbing alcohol. I can't remember exactly what I used on enamels to thin them. If you know you are going to be spraying a lot of solid colors, black, red, white, etc. Stop by an English color and pick up some white base, and a reducer and hardener. I've had some pretty good results with omni products. Make sure if you are going to spray the harsher paints, though, that you will need a good primer. I typically used dupli color spray primers because they were easy to come by. You do need to be careful with the new revell/monogram kits because they changed their plastic. It has a bad reaction to those primers. Sometimes they can be applied in thin coats, other times you will have to go with a less harsh primer and build up to the duplicolor stuffOriginally posted by LeahBest balls I've had in my mouth in a while.

One more thing. When you are doing the show room type builds, or builds you want to have a good shine, Urethane clears are great. There is a learning curve with them, but they typically lay down very smooth since they are self leveling. It is the only clear that I use on any of my builds.
Here are a couple that got an omni urethane clear
Last but not least, the 1:12th camaro I will probably never finish
