  • Paint project

I started the body work on my truck this past summer and have just worked on it when I had time. This weekend I'm painting it finally. Here is my progress so far.

Ya, my slug. It's got the lovely tutu in it. At least it is a 5 speed.

It sits nice. I don't see many step sides either.

Always loved that wheel tire combo on a stepside. friend of mine had a blue sonoma back in the day set up exactly like that. Would like to find one for a beater truck....

Mine is a 2.2/5 spd as well. It is my second. Ive had plenty of gremlins this time around. I hope to do some upgrades next year. Suspension, brakes, and hopefully a 5.3/t56

Thanks, it's just a 2/3 drop now. I had it at 3/4 and 5/4. This is the most DD friendly yet but I would like another few inches down. This is my 2nd one, first being an 82 RCSB with a 2.8 that got the front accordion'd on it after a month of driving it. The truck is sanded and about ready for the sealer and color and clear should follow today. I'll keep y'all updated.

As you can see, not much room to move around in a two car garage. I'm on my phone and I can't get the picture to rotate but you get the idea.

I'm planning on going 2/3 as well. drop spindles up front. I really want to do the blazer conversion for the ease of brake upgrades but the $$$ for the hubs will probably leave me doing 2" s-10 spindles and some brake hardware and spindle modifications

Is it warm enough for a garage paint job?

Ummmm no...... But it is working out ok. We are just having to thin the material down a little bit and wait longer.

Well the sealer laid down really well. Have a few hours for cure them hit it with silver. This thing is gonna look like a bass boat.

Done. Not bad for a $30 spray gun and a garage.
