Why do you think they went to the old standby excuse of "you'll have to file under the freedom of information act". They have no problem telling lies to get their way. Look at Fast and Furious, hell they killed people with their actions.

I have always been afraid of guns that look real and have the orange tip. If I were a bad guy, I'd paint my tip orange in hopes it would make any law enforcement officer hesitate enough for me to kill him.

I was kind of thinking the same thing, I mean I could carry one of my ar's aorund and paint the flash hider orange. LOL

Ok... First youd have to remove the gearbox, then I guess install a "trigger assembly", find another way to mount the pistol grip (it was originally mounted tot he gearbox), completely replace the frame and receiver since its a light pot metal zinc meterial AND then remove the inner brass barrel (6.04mm in diameter) and then replace the outer barrel with a real one, and lastly put a real stock with a buffer tube and spring... Oh wait, why dont you just buy a new REAL rifle? Ya. NOT CONVERTABLE! LOL this pisses me off. Ive screwed with these rifles for a long time and never once seen one converted to shoot even a .22LR. THe metal alone that makes up the majority of the AEG (minus the abs plastic stock, pistol grip, and handgaurds) is just a low grade cheap pot metal. Ok, nerd goggles off.

Hear let me shorten that up for you.

You have to take the toy gun in your truck to Cabella's and leave it there while you buy a real one from the gun counter. MY GOD, that toy gun just turned into a death ray with minimal effort (read gas money and $650+/-).

I would never talk shit about the ATF. They surf and lurk here on our board and have phone numbers for a few of us.
