    • Back on topic. Ive decided that instead of building my own merge im gonna order this to go along with my y collector. should make my job super easy. for the wastegate im gonna just drill out a 2.5 hole as close to the flange as possible.

      • Hot side all tacked up and ready for tig welding. I think the hardest part was drilling the damn waste gate hole into the merge. Went through two hole saws and burnt up my drill.

I think for my first turbo kit it turned out pretty well.

I still need to figure out how im gonna brace it to the frame. I have some ideas. The down pipe should be done sometime tomorrow night. Even though im using stainless ill prob still have the kit ceramic coated. Every little bit helps.

Once my carb comes back from CSU ill finish up the coldside. I hope to start the car in the next 3/4 weeks.

        • Damn. I wanted to learn some fab skills over the summer, but working 60+ hours per week doesn't leave a whole lot of time for extra stuff

That looks really good. Reported as NSFW!

          • Looks like it fits up good, just don't grind in/around that merge too much or that's where it will start cracking

yeah. I have some threaded stainless bungs/tabs that will be welded on the dump tube. It should provide enough support i think. Gonna use some 3/8 bar to support flange. it will bolt onto the lower support.

                              • A little more progress.

I had the kit welded up and finished up the down pipe. Waiting on some parts for the cold side. Carb should be back from CSU next couple weeks. I plan to just install a btm box to get it up and running for now.

One last mock up before it gets coated
