Well We've got about 2500 miles on the build, and lots of adjustments/tweeks have been made. I realized I hadn't put any final pictures up. After looking at these pictures, I'm really needing to paint that pinch weld (as suggested here) under the rocker panels, its sticking out I guess, I painted the ones on the quarters. I just had to notice before I did anything. Although it seems a project like this is never finished, it's ready for the car show season.

      • Yeah, those are just some quick shots I took while out driving it the past few weeks. I need to spend a whole day downtown, lots of cool environments, I need to get to know my camera as well.

                • Beautiful car and great job! I probably overlooked this, but was your car an auto to begin with? If so, how difficult/costly is it to convert it to a manual? I just picked up and 66 coupe and mine has the Cruise-O-Matic C4 which makes highway cruising no bueno.

Edit: Just noticed it was a manual. Any help would be appreciated, though!

You just need a manual quadrant and a sawzall, not very difficult at all really.

It made it to three shows so far and walked with two awards, both first place in pre-'79 mustangs. It was quite the experience seeing people crawling all over it, and then seeing how it compared to others. I couldn't be happier.

Yeah it was a 3 speed. We ditched the Z-bar and updated everything; cable, quadrant, pedal bushings. Check out Modern Driveline. We got everything but the T-5 from them, great guys. They also pointed us to FPA for our headers which are probably my favorite decision on the engine. Perfect fit and really flow nice. I forgot to take some pictures of them before the install, doh!!

I'm going to post up in this thread the next time I'm out in it, probably towards the end of September. Every time I'm out I forget to holla at the classic guys. I've already driven this thing on several 450 mile trips. We'll cross paths eventually.

How difficult to install? I've done one, but on a Fox.

                          • It must be a steel quadrant so you can weld it.

Clutch kits allow you to convert stock "z-bar" style clutch linkages to Ford Foxbody cable clutch style. This creates smoother cluth pedal movement and allows for easier transmission swaps.

                              • I used the cable conversion that FM sells, it bolts right together and looks and works great.
