It was a cool concept, but it had one major failing...corrosion.

It had a more than one major failing, lol. The biggest problem was wild vibrations due to the skids when landing and taking off. And a jet engine intake about four feet above the waves. And last but not least, it killed a test pilot during a Navy demonstration flight.Originally posted by helosailor View Post

I remember seeing footage of it. Seems amazing that it ever got a green light to build the test units.
