New toy for OJ, BoostLeash by Leashed electronics and a 2.5lb co2 rig/regulator. Swapped in some 5lb springs into the wastegates. Can't wait to try this thing out.
went on sunday and lost all my co2 pressure before i got even a remotely decent pass. i had no idea how much pressure to put on the gate so i was shooting in the dark. spun 2 passes and then the bottle was dead.
i think i found the leak though
i pulled the wastegate apart and found a set screw on the top side of the diaphram. i couldn't figure out where it came from as the only slots for set screws on the top side still had their set screws present.
pulled the top of the gate off and this is what i found:
looks like the set screw that holds the top of the gate down came out and as the gate actuated it crushed the set screw into the gate until it eventually went through it and got caught on the top side of the gate. this obviously put a hole in my diaphragm.
Got the new gate on, took them both apart and loc-tited the hell out of everything. put the co2 back on it and it is holding air about 100x better now. if i can find some time this weekend i'll take it out and try to figure out the boost controller.
here is a picture someone took of o.j. at the grudgefest at nsd.

Congrats. What will we do when all the issues are fixed and there is nothing left to do but drive?
So turns out that 1psi on the gate makes almost 1psi of extra boost above the spring. *Never got any decent times but I was only turning it up a little each time. *My radiator hold down broke on one of the launches and cut my belt which then snapped as I went through the traps, didn't catch it until I got back to the pits @ 262* and it was puking water. *Had a buddy take me to the late night oreilly and got a new belt, filled it up and made two more passes, went 115mph @11psi, then I turned it up to make 15psi and shifted into neutral by accident and reved it to 7500rpm, wasn't an easy night for OJ by any means, but I drove it home without incident. Big thanks to chad (sick240) and his buddy for helping lend a hand zip tying my shit together well enough to make some extra passes.
Spent the whole night slowly easing into the boost controller, now that I know how much co2 it takes to make xx psi I think the next trip will be a lot more rewarding.
Question. How many miles have you put on it since you first got it back together with the turbo? What kind of mileage are you getting?
I've got ~700 miles on it since the turbo I believe (~2500 on the build). I am mean to it most of the tanks have all been pretty poor, most trips are to/from track, but when I am decent to it I see ~15mpg through the glide.

Thanks. I put 150 on the car in the last 3 days. Hell I drove it to work in Hurst today too. I am trying to put miles on it before the Power Tour next month. At $3.30+ a gallon and only 7-10 miles per, I am reconsidering my E85 choices.
After smelling this $1,000 twin disc clutch for the last couple of days, I might also start looking at automatic options
