I may avoid you at the track just incase you want to ask me a million questions.
I would like to see in the future if you are able to recreate the 5.85 pass. Take this the right way, I dont see your combo making it into the 5's at your weight.

My skepticism came in the form of 60's. I didn't think it would 60' as good as it did on that 5.85 pass - it went a 1.33. It will be hard to consistently repeat those ET's without a boost controller - the tracks, on a normal night, don't fare too well.. Now, with a boost controller.. things might change.

I was impressed!! I remember when Clifton and I where building pumpkin head back in 2007 and everyone said you will do good to break into the 5's with that setup. Off the trailer it ran a 5.85@117 and within weeks was in the 5.60's and with only changing the convertor and tune(thanks to brooks) it went some 5.4x @ 128. That car was at lot lighter than yours but I think with a glide, good convertor, and a boost controller you will see 5.6x at 12x pretty easily.

i could be wrong, but i think i am easier to absorb in person. possibly not though, everyone i've talked to thinks you are a great guy so i've come to the conclusion you must just dislike me as i've seem to become your whipping boy.
as for never getting another 5.85 who knows, the next trans will have a brake and hopefully i can continue to get things figured out as i go (i'm predicting at least 5 new post (both here on ls1tech of course) before the trans deal is all said and done)!
i won't lie, i was shocked and excited to see the number on the slip, was it a miracle run, possibly, but in that moment all the busted knuckles, summit orders, research, tig welding sun burns, pissing you off by asking questions, etc. was all worth it for me, you couldn't have slapped the smile off my face. hell, i broke my transmission and still went out with some buddies and grabbed drinks without a moment of being bummed out about it.
i do the car absolutely no favors with my driving, i hit the two step, jab the gas down, let off the brake when the lights drop and push the shifter twice, that 5.85 was the car finally saying "look asshole, here is what i can do, stop embarrassing me"

I'm glad you did not sell it and went turbo and are getting to enjoy it too!

thanks again brooks for your help throughout this, without a doubt i'd be NOWHERE near where I am (even if it was a one and done 5.85). You have dealt with my many repetitive questions and steered me around a lot of "newbie mistakes" which allowed me a much shorter learning curve. Million thanks.
