Cant believe you actually considered selling it. Just not a fan of that paint job. You should go with one color. Like a Dark Blue, That would be PIMP
thats def. in my plans, but i'll prob. just go all silver (i'm a sucker for silver). i would have already done it if the car wasn't freakin orange EVERYWHERE (engine bay, door sills, trunk, front fenderwells, roll cage, etc.). car is going to have to come completely apart to do the paint. IMO i'm actually a decent painter, but i've always done paint jobs in home garages with sub-par equipment and it makes the process a PITA. but i'm pretty hard headed (shocking, i know) so when i decide to pull the trigger on the paint i'm sure i'll be fuming it up in my garage!

i painted this trans am in my garage back in college. i actually painted this exact car 3 times (silver with black ghost flames, blue candy paint, and this vette pace car combo).

      • That looks fucking sharp on those 17" ponys. I'll prob pull mine apart for paint when it gets stupid hot outside, that way I won't be tempted to go out in the brutal heat.

        • Solid silver would look tits dude!! But, even if you didn't change the paint, it would still be one of my favorite cars on the site!
BTW, I'll be looking for a coupe next week to turn into a street only version of your car.

Lol, just like I tell everyone on here, internet shit doesn't piss me off. BTW, I was wrong about Matt. His shit went waaaaay down hill since I knew him.

You're cool in my book bro.

well that makes one book that i'm cool in!

matt is really helpful on the ls1tech forum but he just cuts way too many corners for me. sometimes it actually looks like it would probably have been easier to do it the right way. not to mention i just cringe at the prospect a car like that might be in the opposite lane with me (or even worse going down the track in front of me). i took a WILD ride 2 or 3 weeks ago cause someone was pissing coolant (after they'd been told in the pits about it), i hit it and went right for the wall, they burned the track after that but from what i heard he did it again later that night. IMO if you leak on the track there should be some type of visual done on the car before you are allowed to run again, but i'm probably just a wuss.

that ride really made me realize how quick things can go to hell, i had a bunch of folks come up to me after that thinking i hit the wall, when i happened i knew it was crazy, but it happened so fast i didn't really realize how out of shape it got. my car doesn't wheelie, doesn't pull to one side, anything, just goes dead straight down the track, so much so that i probably get too comfortable with it. hitting that coolant was a good wake up call.

                      • I said the same thing to matt when he sold that mont. My exact words where someone actually gave you money for that piece of shit haha.

Dville, Ive always enjoyed your car and build like many here. Sure you needed some help getting the initial learning curve of the tuning down. I wish we could all master anything we wanted in a few hours.

when it said he sold it my jaw hit the floor! the guy who bought it seems to be enjoying it though so more power to him.

i'm still learning new things all the time and without the help of brooks and a few others on here who pointed me in the right direction and dealt with my constant "but why?" responses to their advice i would have had a much different (read: longer and more expensive) path to get where i'm at. i'm not the most liked guy on the board, but i like to believe i am very humble, i just take the bait too often when people are trying to get a rise out of me. oh, and i have a weird obsession with not ditching 93 octane which seems to piss off a lot of people.
