Yup, nĂºmero 7 called it quits on me. Car ran perfect up till I pulled it in the garage. I knew the motor started making a little noise but it was running fine, passed a leak down, no smoke, no blow by, but when I stuck a scope down in that cylinder and there was a piece missing! Motor is going to the machine shop this week once my rods show up. Not going to change much on the motor, .030 over, good pistons/rods, dropping the compression a little, new bearings, ls9 head gaskets, and some head studs. Hope to be back out by the end of the month.
Pump gas, 93 octane, 16-17psi, stock cast pistons, lasted a lot of passes. I think it might have actually happened the Thursday before the cruise on 161 actually (heard some interesting noises but thought I ran over something), if so it means it made 8-9 passes like that.

Jay has run 12-18pounds on a stock motor for 3-4 years now, but he does it on e85 and a crappy tune I did. Never a piston problem...but I would never think about trying to do it on 93, just taking too many chances. Good luck getting it back together, and switch to a better fuel!
