i plan to have mike go through it and fix it/freshen it, then i'll probably sell it and recoup some of the new trans cost. this trans has less then 2k miles on it and never missed a beat (until i left the track on saturday when it didn't want to go into third). it'd be a great trans for someone making a little less hp then i am, but i hate feeling like i am on borrowed time, i like to beat on my toys so it looks like a glide will be the choice as a build 4l80e w/converter and brake is ~$4k and thats a little rich for my blood.
little update:
got new driveshaft made, 1350 3.5" dom from ft. worth gear and axle, went with strange 1350 slip yoke and strange 1350 pinion yoke (saddle type), here it is compared to the stocker i was running.
got the mikes trickshift glide, installed it, got my speedo gears out of the 350 and got that all working, wired up the t-brake.
bought another innovate wideband (for tuning the vette) and it came with a gauge, so since I am all out of real estate I took out the defroster switch (my column has hazards on it), and made a plate for the hole, then wired up the gauge to it. looks good and is very visable.
Hopefully I'll be out testing it this weekend. I got a bigger trans cooler for it and am running stainless lines to it, my shipment with the lines fittings doesn't get here till tomorrow so with any luck I'll finish it up tomorrow night.
well, first time out on the glide/brake was a flop, left way to easy (read: no boost on the first passes) ran a 6.20, turned it up and blew the tires off 2 times in a row. i really think if it'd hook it'd fly, but i'll have to wait to figure that out. it was a learning experience for sure.
took a little video on the ride home, the glide actually cruises better on the highway i think pretty happy cruising around 70mph.
