Mine's the same. 114 on GPS and it shuts down. Gets up there pretty quick, passing traffic!

When I first got the Truck I made a trip to Orange Texas (I-10 close to the Louisiana border) and when I got down there it had an average of 21 mph. By the time I got back it was at 19.1 mpg. But I did hit 115 mph getting around some logging trucks a time or two.

My 2011 F150 5.0L is limeted to 105, and the only video on YouTube I could find is some guy topping out at 100 in a King Ranch EcoBoost.

I wonder if it is a tire saftey issue? Does the Tundra come with higher speed rated tires?
If you do a search, the Jap trucks range between 110 and 115 mph for the shut off.

The ones on my 2011 F150 5.0L are load rated at 109 (2271 lbs) and speed rated at T (118 mph) but as I said, the truck shuts off at 105/106 mph.
Oh, and they are Michelins.

his tire has a speed rating of T, which means 118 mph (190 km/h) is the maximum speed that can be sustained for 10 minutes. A higher speed becomes dangerous.
