I need to test drive one of these EB. I test drove two 2012 Ram 1500 hemis with the 390 HP 5.7 this weekend and loved them. Took it out on the highway set cruise at 65 and reset the MPG and it showed 23 at end of test drive. Of course that is not accurate over a short trip but was better than expected.
I average about 18 with my heavy foot everywhere. I averaged 27 going to corpus

I believe with average speed of 65mph they got close to 30mpg and ended up going over that with a lower speed. I'll do the same test you did in my truck and let you know how it did. Approximately how many highway miles did you drive so we can compare as closely as possible?

I'll continue to search for the article as well.

Ldecharmoy, that's a pretty good time slip. I'm curious how mine would have looked if I got one more pass. The 14.904 (9.6) I ran had a 60 of 2.26 but it spun, albeit smoothly, 3/4 through first gear. That was with a 1500-1700 rpm launch. Maybe you, Barry, me, and all the other 1/2 ton truck guys should do our own little shootout at Kennedale one night.
Im down for that!!! I want to do 1/4 mile though. I have a feeling i may hit the speed limiter before the 1/4 traps

Crandall is actually where I went and ran this past Friday. I went through the traps at 93 at the VERY top of 3rd. I'll think we'll be safe until we start doing a little modding. I prefer 1/4 mile for sure but most everyone in Texas seems to be stuck on doing half a drag race.

          .
I want to say it was about 18-20. Just a test drive. I really like how the new Dodge's look and also the features on the interior that they have put into their trucks. When it comes time for me to buy one I will test the EB first.

I am either wanting an FX4 CREW EB or a Dodge sport/laramie/laramie longhorn crew 4x4.

Price= fx4 vs laramie, fx4 i believe is cheaper when it comes to price vs what you get in that package
MPG= EcoBoost *depends on how you drive of course

You are right on the exterior and MPG. Have you seen the interiors of the new dodges? Very nice.

Also on price, go to dodge.com and ford.com and build one with the same options. The Dodge will be 4-5k cheaper. Dodge has some things that Ford does not offer and it is still that much cheaper. I get X-Plan for Ford and Affiliate for Dodge( both are similar). I just need to go test drive the Eco before I can really pinpoint which truck I want.

Also Dodge offers 100k powertrain warranty.

Just remember.....It's a flat nosed brick. lol

Does yours have the power folding mirror option? I fold them back and call it "race mode" and then when they go back forward I call it my "speed brakes." lol

Which model dodge? I would not buy one with the cloth seats that is for sure. The leather seats in the dodges are very nice. The Longhorn Laramia interior is nice and puts the King Ranch to shame.

coming from someone with 3 Fords in their sig lol

Nothing could possibly beat Dodge's anti-swamp ass option of front cooled seats.

Very true! It was nice. The laramies also have heated 2nd row... which I really could care less about but it is pretty nice if you have passengers.

I did the test tonight. Over 19 miles at 65mph with the cruise control it averaged 23.2mpg.

It ran 9.80 with 50 miles on it and it seems faster now, so.........
I hate to return the kick, but mine will be paid for in one year. With just a drop in K&N filter mine ran the best of 9.142. When I first got the Truck I made a trip to Orange Texas (I-10 close to the Louisiana border) and when I got down there it had an average of 21 mph. By the time I got back it was at 19.1 mpg. But I did hit 115 mph getting around some logging trucks a time or two.

Jason, you have not idea how bad I want one of those ecoboosts. They are a lot nicer than my jap truck. I just want a paid for truck more than anything right now. Ford having that zero percent interest for 60 months does not help matters either.
