I sucked at photobucket on the last go around... anyway....
When I originally installed all my home theater stuff, my surround speakeres were up on the walls behind the sofa on either side of me, about 11 feet high. They are dipoles, so I figured I would get decent results from a range of placements.... but I found out while standing on a ladder to clean my ceiling fan blades that there was A LOT of sound I was missing out on.
Since I am poor right now I figured I would get some wood and paint and make some simple stands. You can see that they're basically a couple of 1' x 1' pieces attached to a piece of 4" x 4" - painted with a black basecoat and finished up with a couple coats of black metal flake.
They turned out pretty decent and go pretty good with the color of the rest of my gear.. I was happy with them.
