              I grew up in a Marine household, so this day is pretty big for me too. Even though I was a lowly squid, I'm still half Marine.

              My Dad in 1957, first tour as a DI.

                    In the words of a large group of his former recruits, 50+ years later, he was "tough but always fair, he started out as a father figure, but became our brother". Now, those men are like my brothers, but all old enough to be my father. lol
