The win lights will still work so there is no question who got the win . I to think it is dumb to not use the tree but thats why there is a negotiation ahead of time . The jump usualy goes to the car thought to be slower and takes the arm drop out of the race since so many guys jump the drop . At the track the red light makes it fair IMO .
