With your hand more personal yes. But as for a belt, I used to not be able to not sit down the next day at school.. cps was called and a meeting was held at school with them, counselor, mother and principal... I had a big bruise on my face at age 6...

Spankings only made things worse for me personally until I was 16 and she tried to hit me with a belt...WTF 16... had not been pulled out in years then all of a sudden I'm caught by suprise by a hit to the back with it.. I grabbed the belt, screamed then hit her on the ass with it as hard as possible, said "don't you ever try this bs again".. she just started crying.. like, what an idiot ya know. I'm just against it, there are other ways.

Don't know ya man, but you sound like an extreme case. There is a clear difference between abuse and a spanking/whooping.

IMHO, what you're describing and what I saw in that video are all abuse.

Exactly, it sucked.. my sister whom is 36, I'm 23 at the moment.. when I was 16 after that incident, she came over and found the belt because she used to get hit with the same one when she was younger.. took the belt and burned it on her bbq pit at home so I'd never get hit with it again... thank goodness, that think had thick stiching, and studs all over it...hurt like a bitch.

However, there is still a place in parenting for spankings with belts/hands/spoons. It's the parent's decisions that makes it abuse and some parents spank out of anger.

Mother said one day when she was a child, her step mother used to beat her and her two brothers everyday in the morning just for the hell of it... I'm like ooooookkkk..... wtf would you do it to me for.. carry on the legacy of your step mother??.. she's such a dumbass. I would've been way better off being raised by my father.. which I was only able to see every other weekend because of the custody.. so had a step father whom didn't see eye to eye with me, his son and myself hated eachother, he hated that I rode bmx, had sponsors, didn't like to watch his faggot ass football with him and my step brother, he cheated on my mother for 8 years of marriage (don't blame him), and a mother who beat me.. went to my dads every chance I got. People have had way worse than me but hey, noone should grow up like I did either.

I was flipping through the channels wednesday I believe and Dr. Phil was interviewing the mom and daughter. The mom said that she was beating her to appease her husband who brainwashed her. And the Daughter said that she posted it because she was mad at her dad for telling her to give him back the Benz that he bought her... Pretty bad, the whole thing looks like a scam to get back at mean ol' daddy and bastard ex husband to me. It was excessive, but 7 years later... c'mon.

(Mother says) "your sis said that when she was your age, just being plain stupid, when you get older you'll wish you never did and come back".. (me) "no, I'm not a pussy like she is, I took your shit alot longer than anybody else ever had to, I disown you, you're not my mother. Fuck you"... wish I could return the beating for a minute or two sometimes...

I think where people get lost in all of this is the fact that you do not have to beat your kids to teach them something. If your kid is so stupid that the only way you can get your point across is to beat them, then its your fault for raising a dumb ass kid.
