Man, real sorry to see that. I remember when my son swallow a quarter and was choking on it. I was freaking the hell out. Tried everything, and then hauled ass to the emergency room. It finally went on down half way there. Scared the living shit out of me.

Hope she gets it out soon.

On a side note, I had a cousin that shoved something up his nose. It finally came out about 8 years later. Kids do weird shit.

Wow, it's amazing what the human body can endure - especially with kiddos.

I'll let yall know how it goes.

            Thanks again,

            Best of luck Bryan.

REALLY hard to maintain when your little girl is down.

Maybe a little dress up/trick-or-treat party with a few of her school friends would be in order, after she gets out!?

I'm sure all will be fine. At least they found the problem quickly and know without question what the issue is. She'll bounce back like a rubber ball. However, I am thinking of you guys, as I know how stressful it is.

                            Sedation. Intubation. Bronchoscopy.

Basically, they will sedate her and put in a breathing tube and breathe for her. They will then use a fiber optic camera with a grasper on the end to get it out. They will then wash out that lung with sterile fluids to prevent pneumonia.

I have removed a bottle cap from a 10yr olds airway emergently before. Kid was blue and not breathing when I got him. Took a look in his throat with a laryngoscope and used some McGill's to pull it out of his larynx. A few breaths with a BVM and he was as good as new.
while I'm sure Dave here might know what he's talking about, I'd wait for Paramedic Tim to give you the real low down on how to take care of it!
