Trying to start unnecessary drama in a thread such as this? Interesting.

Anyways.....Bryan, prayers sent. She's going to be fine.

I was more messing with Dr. Dave than you, don't flatter yourself.

But OP, hope your daughter is fine

              Sedation. Intubation. Bronchoscopy.

Basically, they will sedate her and put in a breathing tube and breathe for her. They will then use a fiber optic camera with a grasper on the end to get it out. They will then wash out that lung with sterile fluids to prevent pneumonia.

I have removed a bottle cap from a 10yr olds airway emergently before. Kid was blue and not breathing when I got him. Took a look in his throat with a laryngoscope and used some McGill's to pull it out of his larynx. A few breaths with a BVM and he was as good as new.
In emergency medicine, what do you do if the obstruction has passed the vocal cords?

If they are apneic and completely obstructed, I will try to push the obstruction down into the right mainstem bronchus and ventilate the left lung to keep them alive until they can be taken to the OR. If I am unable to push it down further I will do a cricothyroidotomy if its an adult or needle jet insufflation if its a child.

You forgot to add in a couple hits of PB Blaster the night before just to loosen it up before the extraction.

Gonna have to add that to my airway cart.

They took her to the OR about 15 minutes ago. Dr is confident that it'll be quick and easy.
