  • santa came early!

got home yesterday and found a box had arrived and guess what was inside

    a big fucking carb!!!

A Pro Systems SV-1 to be exact.

sorry, couldn't find a DP can but its 110mm

    other side

better have an open plenum to run this monster

this will be going on top of a 547 big block with ported P51 heads and a port matched Victor. For those that don't know, P51s were designed by Jon Kaase and flow close 400cfm @ .800 lift out of the box using a factory CJ port location. Mine were flowed at ~400 @ .500 lift and 420 @ .600. I'd be happy to post pics if any one is interested but there doesn't seem to be much BBF love on here.

      that's a big ol' holy-shittin' carb!

I guess I'm way behind the times, never seen a single barrel like that. Do they idle/transition well or are they pretty much a drag-only thing?

The SV1 has been around for about a year or two. You can get them in different sizes from 90mm to 115mm AFAIK. They supposedly idle, transition and drive more smoothly than a regular 4 barrel while using less fuel and making more power. Plus I'm already going a different route than most by running a ford big block and a Torino so I figured I'd be a little different and give it a try too.

sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. It was when I first got my phone and I didn't realize the settings were all fucked up.

But its a 71 Torino GT thats pretty solid and rust free.

That would never work. It would implode. It only works the other way around.

Hopefully it doesn't completely fuck the space time continuum up.

The universe would not let it happen. All of the Final Destination movies were showing what happens to people that attempt to put a Ford engine in a Chevrolet vehicle.

You saw how badly it ended for all of them. Death catches up eventually, even if you change up the sequence.
