If you are racing for money and you tell someone you are making 500 wheel when you're actually making 700 wheel isn't that dishonest and you'll be ratted out after one race?

I guess I just don't see the point of sandbagging. At higher power levels, rwhp is only one factor in many that determines whether you will win a race or not. So, why not just be honest about your power and match up with other cars at similiar levels and may be the best man/machine win?
People say I sandbag but if you look at my history its not true. I posted the true hp my CTS-V made, posted the true hp my Supra made, etc....

My cars combos usually just work well and run well for a low amount of power.

That's great and I wasn't calling you out per se. I was just curious why some people apparently sandbag when there is little to no long-term benefit to basically lying about your power output. As I said, a bunch of factors come into play to determine who wins a race, particularly at higher power levels. Weight, gearing, aero, powerband, driver ability, traction, etc. The list goes on and on.

I was just playing, just sounded like a sand bagging type of response.

Exactly, car is down on power.

I'm hoping a BS3 and changing a few small things fixes it.

If not it'll be time for a different power adder.

Oh trust me I've thought about putting an LSX in it, I've considered putting a built 2J in it, etc... All options would make more power for less.

But its a pretty nice 93 Cobra. As of now I think I want to keep a SBF in it. The motor is a 331 Rblock setup. With a few changes the motor should be capable of the power I want

for sure, i just said that since you have an lsa

obviously i like the ls swaps, and the 2jz would be cool, but i just can't see a mustang having anything but a throaty v8 in it.

2J makes more power, cheaper with better gas mileage. Its hard to ignore for sure.

I agree about the throaty V8 thing at times. Personally I think a built SBF sounds better then most LS's.

I sold my extra LS motor so I would be starting from scratch if I went that route. All though I would love for the car to end up with a 4L80

Some people don't talk about how much power their car makes because of the inevitable comments from the internet idiots. It is like a gossip circle of old ladies. "Did you hear what Joe is doing to his car?"

meh, once they are cammed and running through a turbo i can't tell what is what. no point in you changing everything up, you've got a sweet motor in it now and it'll put down a metric shit ton of power when it's tuned up right.

if you did do the ls swap you could probably recoup most (if not all) of your cost by just selling your current setup. get a 4l80 w/a brake and make it a 2nd gear leaver. super sick shit right there. could even ditch the bs3 and just use a factory pcm. other then some tunnel beating the nice thing about the ls swap is that you are just a k-member away from going back to sbf if you want to (hell, if you go aje you just swap the mounts from lsx to sbf and leave the k-member).

The way I see it I can put a full manual 4L80 behind my SBF and I should be able to make 800+rw on a good tune up. Its just about power adder choice at that point in time. Need to talk to Brooks and James, see what both of them think first.

Oh how I wish it was a radical all motor car with some nitrous. That would be ideal for me.

I seriously think armbar Steve does this. He probably fires the bat symbol in the sky so all the fanboys get boners and call him at the secret cave and they talk about who bought whose car, how much rwhp, who went 175 MPH on the freeway, how much this costs, etc, while he dreams one day of actually owning something that people might envy. I can only imagine all of the websites he has to keep-up with to stay on top of things. He's the TMZ of the dfw highway scene for sure!
