        I prefer the Electras, as the extra 3" or so of wheelbase makes them that much longer and leaner. IMO

        I don't mind the '60s. In some ways they are better actually, but you're right, the '59 canted headlights are the shit. And the 4dr hardtops have a crazy kickass roofline that is second only to the coupes.

        Buy THE BEST ONE you can afford. Period. You don't want to hunt for parts, they are nearly impossible to find.

              I worked at a little hot rod shop and we had a '59 El Camino that I worked on pretty much the entire time I worked there.

              I spent a lot of time on that car. We took sheet metal and broke it and welded it down the far outside edge of the fins, where the stainless trim would have been, and made the fins come out further, and to a point. Similar to the '59 Impala that Bill Hines built years ago. It looked pretty bad ass.




              Just a suggestion.
