  • 67 Chevelle cage work

Did some work on a buddy's 67 Chevelle. He wanted to put in swing out door bars and move the rear bars through the package tray. The goal is to put a back seat back in the car. In the process we decided to rework the trunk as well. Photos of the progress so far.

It looks like to me that the motor obstructs his line of sight and is a safety issue. He need to give it to me and I will store it safely in my 68 Camaro...

Please, oh Please... tell me those secondary back bars aren't pie cut and re-welded?

They were. Not something we did. That is part of the reason we removed them and put the other ones in.

ah, Ok, I had to go back and look at the pics again, I didn't see they were removed.

Yeah, it was set up pretty bad. The door bars were set up the same way except they weren't pie cut, the were cut on an angle completely apart and welded back in all the way around. I wouldn't have put my life in it's hands. It should be much better now as we got all of those questionable bars removed from the cage and replaced.
