Very kool! I just picked up a 67 coupe with an i-6 auto. It has a little cancer, plan to begin the correction once i get my 95 back up and running.. I love that front end setup! Im looking at the aje stuff.

Hats off to the dedication to get that project started.

Jesus. No offense, but why even bother? I could see it if it was a Fastback he picked up for nearly nothing, but 67-68 coupes are still a dime a dozen.

Good lord, that's pretty ambitious. Bet it'll be a bad mofo when it's done.

Because they are still cool. Why fix up any car? Because it is a hobby.

It wasn't a question of cool, it was a question of cost/work to benefit ratio.

                  That's looking good!

I understand why someone would ask this question. In some ways, I agree. For me, however, this is exactly what I would like to do, and I think I would want to do it to a coupe.

I would love to have a fastback, but if I were to find one that I could afford to buy, I think I would want to stay closer to stock. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to do it to a coupe because they still are a dime a dozen.

If it's not an effort to make money, I don't see the problem. Some people just like coupes. Not for me, but I can see why. The coupe is still one of the most beautiful designs of the 60's. Opinion, of course, but one most would agree with.

                      Iconic would be more appropriate

Fuck all that. They made more than a couple fastbacks too. 66 was the lowest year with 35,000 2+2s produced. That's more than half the production of all 2009 Mustangs sold in the US. Granted, they have to survive 40+ years, but I'm willing to bet that a lot of them did.

Point is, for just about every interesting, historically noteworthy type of classic Mustang out there, there's at least one that lives a pristine, preserved existence. For the rest of them, I say have fun with them. Now that I have a 5-speed, I'm never going back to a junky 60's transmission just because it's more "correct", that's for damn sure.

I don't think the two are mutually exclusive.

This makes me want to get off my ass and finish mine! I think putting money in it to make it reliable and as you want it is better than going and buying a new vehicle and losing half it's value as soon as you drive off.
