This is my 1st year ever to hunt stand and feeder. I have always done my homework and scouted the land before my hunts. And I might add, I've loved every minute of it. Having said this, I have found that there is a lot to this stand and feeder hunting. A lot of work (and money I might add) goes into getting everything sat up, after picking the "perfect" spot. Then there is NO guarantee that the deer will eat corn. It all depends on what else is out there to eat ie; acorns, mesquite beans, etc. Its my understanding that those with feeders last year did poorly because of the amount of acorns on the ground.
Is it easier...yeah.
Is it more comfortable...yeah.
I have hunted all my life leaned up against fences and trees stumps in the freezing cold and rain. I wouldn't change my past experiences for the world, but I sure like the ideal of sitting in a heated blind, away from the elements, sipping coffee and eating biscuits.
