exactly. 10k car vs 35k car and it was damn near even. plus it is just more fun being the underdog. imo. plus i am betting that 4.6 had the shitty 3.6 blower pulley on it.
raise the compression of a 2v 4.6, throw some decent heads and cams, keep it n/a and it will hold its own with (if not beat) a new 5.0 for far less $$.

Maybe with a large assortment of supporting mods like full exhaust, gears, etc...

lol with all those mods that 10k car becomes a 25k one ina hurry.

i would say gears, exhaust, and a tune. i was assuming those things since a lot of the 2v's on the market have those things done already, minus the tune obviously. the 400lb weight advantage the 2v has over the 2012 gt is a big factor.

i was speaking of the op's car. i have a total of 10k in my 2v; blower and car price included. you can get a bolt-on new edge for 6-7k. spend another 6k in the motor/ supporting mods, and there you have it. you can probably do it cheaper if you just kept the stock bottom end, got the trickflow h/c/i and milled the heads. then you wouldn't even have to touch the bottom end which would save a ton of $$.

Damn near even, and the 2V is blown. Yeah, that's a selling point. Fortunately, I'm neither young nor poor.
