It was only a matter of time before he passed me as I was bone stock with runflat PS2 tires and he was modded with R-comps. Fun, nonetheless.

Thanks, guys. Car is fun on a big track like TWS. I have some of the new ZR1 sport cup tires sitting in the garage that I need to put on for the next track event. That should add some much needed stick. Car wants to rotate on me mid-corner if I give it not very much gas. That prevents exploring the potential of the car when it wants to slide around without much provocation.Ford

I think you said that might have been your first time at TWS...? Your entry to T3 needs a little work. Use all the track on entry, turn in late and then exit wide and hard on the gas over the hump. couple of other areas you could work on with a few more days there. It's not a track to pick up easily as it requires a lot of balls to master. If you ever want to, I can probably talk Rick into letting me coach you for a small nominal fee....and you can walk that viper while still on street tires!
Viper driver was total point and shoot. He wasn't carrying any corner speed. didn't click any lap times but looked barely under 2:00...could be wrong. He was average and seemed afraid of the car in the corners but loved to mat the gas on the straight. sort of defeats the purpose of those expensive R compounds.
Glad you had a good time. sadly, the track is officially for sale as of last week and it's being marketed as a development project for home or industrial sites. Current owner has run it into the ground and ran off all the old staff that made that track great. Hopefully a rich car fanatic will buy it or finance it.... Know anyone that will loan me some money?!

I need to work on all the corners, but the ones I was most uncomfortable with was T1/T2. I don't know what my deal was, but I was pretty chicken at TWS this last time out. I've been to TWS a few times, the last few times with my '08 Coupe LS3 with R888 tires and I slapped that thing all over TWS, running mid to upper 1:50's. This time I don't have a timed lap better than 1:58. The PS2 tires were nearly corded, so I'm sure that's not helping, but I was more nervous driving this car than my old one.
I think it had to do with the fact this one is quite a bit more expensive and I had driven it down to College Station and had to drive it back to DFW Sunday evening. I wanted a car that wasn't damaged to get home in so I could make work the following morning. I'm a lot more comfortable at MSR, so with my sport cups and only being 30 miles from home, I'll have fun at the TDE 3.1 MSR event on Dec 3-4.
Sorry to hear TWS is for sale. It's my favorite overall track as it's fast and smooth transitions (for the most part) and doesn't seem to heat up the car as much due to the higher airflow over the radiator, etc. I hope an enthusiast buys it and fixes it up a little bit.Ford
