When I was a kid I was up late one night doing the dishes while everyone else in the house had gone to bed. I was almost done when I heard the screen door open slowly, then slam shut. Being that we lived 20 miles outside of Huntsville, I had been taught to treat these noises with respect and let my dad know about it (he was a prison gaurd at the time). Well, about the time I let my dad know, we started hearing a rythmic thump. My dad woke up my older brother and they both went outside, armed to the teeth, to investigate.

What they found was funny, yet puzzling.

A small amount of background info is needed first. My older brother had a 1978 Ford Pinto that he had put a small stereo system in. Well, since this was the early 90's, and my older brother was broke, things were ghetto rigged. So, in order to turn the system on, you had to wrap the power wire around the ignition coil wire. The remote turn on wire was hard wired to the power wire.

Well, what they found was my brother's system was playing a tape of DJ Magic Mike and the amp power wire was wrapped around the ignition coil. But, the car was locked!! So how did this happen???? It wasn't playing earlier and his tape player wouldn't automatically flip to play the other side of the tape.

When I was growing up, we had a cat named Rocky. This cat was the toughest cat in the neighborhood. My friends would always complain to me because Rocky was kicking their cat's ass.

One day Rocky came home with a hole in his cheek. You could see his teeth on the other side of his cheek kind of hole. Needless to say, he had gotten his ass kicked.

A day or two later, my older brother and I hear Rocky and another cat getting into a fight in our back yard. My brother decides he's gonna put an end to this so he grabs my dad's semi auto 22 rifle. We walk out on the back porch with the yard light on and see Rocky, and another cat. Rocky runs away, but the other cat just looks at us and sits there. So, my brother takes aim and fires a shot. I saw the cat's body recoil from the bullet hitting it, but the cat turns towards us and starts running at us. So my brother unloads the rifle on this cat. I see the cat's body recoil a couple of times from the hits, but it kept running at us. Right before it got to us, it turns and runs away. This cat took at least 6 rounds in it, but it kept running like it didn't even phase it.

My brother and I went around trying to find out who's cat this was, but no one in our neighborhood had a cat like this.

I've got a LOT more stories like these. Needless to say, I had a VERY interesting childhood thanks to my mom.

It's a fairly long read, but completely worth it. I think it was some english majors thesis paper.

haha... i read that story a few years ago before I went caving, and it definitely messed with my head a little. Bad idea to read that story, then to go into a cave with a similar entrance. LOL

Dude, fuck crawling through that. I'm claustrophobic. Not like "I can't be in elevators." or anything crazy like that but feeling like a turd in an rectum isn't my thing.

That was it. It was meant to lead you to believe they were killed.

Lol. Yeah you find out REAL quick if you're a pussy in tight spaces in that cave. Fucking bad ass cave though, I hope to go back one day and go all the way to the end, we only made it about halfway (a mile) average height of the cave is 14 inches and opens up into big rooms about every 100 yards.
