  • Zombie apocalypses vehicle (model inside)

I decided to take on a model car project of a Zombie apocalypses escape vehicle. started as a spare body of an 80's ford dewly. its not near done, but its enough to give you and idea.

still need to do the cattle guard (er um Zombie guard), and the armor for the drivers window. Also was about to start weathering it, but my rusting agent is all dried up, so that's on hold till the weekend when I can get more. Also working on a real world-like weapon for the truck. and having some problems with the drive train too, I want to put a cummins 5.9l in it. Unfortunately can't find one so its going to have to be a scratch build.

the drum in the back is for fuel, I figure in a zombie infested world there wont be 7-11's open on every corner. The plan is when ever you come to an area with a fuel source get as much as possible and get out.

I wanted to go with a junkyard modified look, not your ordinary jacked up truck. hence the crude nature of the lift.

the drum drains down to the stock fuel tank, figured more fuel the better. Also there will be a motor and a pair of batteries attached to the home made chain pull, still working on those. Probably also going to move the chain to the middle of the bed.

lighting seemed important for this one. there will be still more lights when the cattle guard goes on.

I'll keep updating as it comes together, this has honestly been one of the most fun builds I've done. You can really let your mind go and come up with some crazy things. And who doesn't like thinking about Z day?:

Awesome. Spotlights in each of the quarter windows would be good for spotting zombies in the dark.

My spell check wouldn't help me on that one, and I was to tired to google it. But out of the entire post you felt the only thing to respond to was my one spelling error? Your brain would explode if you looked back at some of my older posts on the old site!

Hopefully that fuel line is at least steel braided. Even then it needs to be housed with heavy gauge steel sheeting. Especially if it's routed underneath.

The model looks awesome, man. I love making models and yours have always impressed me.

However, I'm a liar if I didn't say I literally laughed out loud at 'dewly'

(4bangen) miss spelling shit on dfw(mu)stangs since 2001! Lol. But hay I have gotten a hell of a lot better. I went back and looked at a few of my first posts on the old site, and I couldn't even tell what I was saying.(face palm)
I've worked hard over the years trying to overcome my dyslexia. I am doing a lot better, but still fuck up some pretty easy words hee and there. The schools I went to as a kid didn't belive dyslexia was real, so they just figured I was lazy and gave up on trying to teach me. For the most part I am self tought on reading and writing. I'm not lazy. And I'm not stupid, I'm just a bit retarded when it comes to the written word. Talk to me in person, or let me dictate to some one and I sound fairly smart. But give me a pen and paper and get ready to laugh.
So now that that's out of the way, thanks for the complaments on the truck.

Have you made some type of cover over the stock fuel tank? That shit is lifted up enough for zombies to crawl around underneath and tear some shit up. Maybe there needs to be steel sheeting all on the bottom of the vehicle.
