  • Engine Carnage S/C'd 08 GT

    Below are a few pictures from of the engine I removed from my mustang today. It broke 5 out of the 8 rods and bent 2 more. Multiple holes in the engine block along with numerous cracks. Enjoy.

    This is a picture of all the parts that we were able to remove without disassembling the engine. The rest are during and after engine dis assembly.

            Just a touch over 500rwhp. Completely stock bottom engine with 12K miles. It's had the SC on it since day one though.

                        JDM. I don't believe it to be a tune related failure. It simply was making more power than the block could handle. Not to mention my driving doesn't help. I was driving it pretty hard when it let go.

                            Yeah, from what I understand, mid-400 rwhp is about all that will be reliable on them. Anything more than that is a roll of the dice. Looks like you hit snake eyes.
                            Is the new 3V going to have an upgraded bottom end/rotating assy?
